WOW!!!! What a year for Hunting for a Cure! The Fifth Annual Juvenile Turkey Hunt has now come and gone and Sunday Afternoon, March 22, 2009, St. Jude was presented a check for $64,326.06. We are proud to say that over the last five years we have given St. Jude over $310,000.00!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mike and Barney never dreamed it would ever become the great event it has become when they started it on their land in Hardin County.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank every guide, hunter, camera person, landowner, volunteer, vendor, and sponsor. Without each and every one of you this would not have been possible!!!
A Special thanks to Karen Burress, Tracy Hopkins, Pam Austin and the Savannnah Moose Riders for putting together an awesome bike ride! The bike ride had over 100 bikers, and they donated 3,670.00 to the great cause! Savannah's own, Clifford Balentine's bike won Best of Show, Robert Warren's bike won second, and Peggy Hardin's bike won third. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
The biggest bird was brought in by a native Hardin Countian, Ben Chrestman.
Most Donations was brought by Drake Massengill, with Georgia Peeler and Zion Franks on his heels! And yes, for all those who were rooting for Chelcey Haggard, She Got 'er Done and came in with a 18.8 pound bird!!
Mr. Leonard Scott was the proud recipient of the Brand New 2008 400 Arctic Cat 4 wheeler, sponsored by Gillis Small Engines. Molly Monday's Resturaunt sold the winning ticket! Congratulations!
Johnny Duncan won the pistol that was given away, Congratulations to all!
The Staff of Hunting for a Cure hope each and every one had a good time and had a safe trip home. Look forward to seeing you guys next year, and hope you guys will email us soon!

Our Mission is to introduce children to the joys of wildlife hunting and the outdoors, and through volunteers and sponsorsraise funds to contribute to the fight against childhood disease. 100 % of all proceeds goes to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital in Memphis Tennessee.
